Irvine, Newport Beach…It’s Time. Costa Mesans, We Need Your Help

HelpOn August 30, we posted Kudos to the City of Irvine and their police association for reaching a new contract. Two weeks ago, our neighbors in Newport Beach (police sergeants and lieutenants) also received a new contract (and a raise) that was ratified and unanimously approved by their council. We are thrilled for our fellow brothers and sisters for the peace of mind they now have with a signed contract. It will no doubt assist whatever retention efforts they may have in place.

Now 483 days without a contract, we fervently hope for a contract resolution for our own officers and their families’ security and peace of mind. Like Newport Beach, our proposal is reasonable. We even proposed to pick up the employee cost—fully.

If you agree that 483 days is too long, please forward this article to the council members below and graciously ask them to make this a priority. Please note Mayor Mensigner and Mayor Pro Tem Righeimer are respectfully removed from this list due to the law suit filed against us, they are not allowed to vote on our contract.

Our police officers and their families thank you for your support.
